ALUMINUM IS SUSTAINABLE

Aluminum is the most common metal on earth and is extracted from bauxite ore. Aluminum is sustainable due to a long life span. Aluminum lasts for decades and has a life span of 60 years in the construction sector. The required energy in combination with the long service life makes aluminum sustainable. In addition to the long service life, the material is also low maintenance. This means that aluminum requires less maintenance than other metals. In addition, aluminum can be recycled without quality reduction.

INNOVATIVE AND SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS

EFKA offers innovative and sustainable solutions for aluminum frames. Aluminum is a beautiful material that is characterized as light, strong, corrosion-resistant and easy to machine. Extrusion is the process where aluminum will be reformed. EFKA uses pieces that are left for this extrusion process.

WHAT IS ALUMINUM EXTRUSION?

Aluminum extrusion is a plastic molding process where preheated aluminum is pushed into a mold under great pressure. The extrusion is liquid, squeezed out and cooled with air or water. After cooling, the aluminum is checked for possible strains and straightness. The profiles are then sawn again in the desired length. This is the excellent basis for EFKA to contribute her products to a sustainable society.

RECYCLING ALUMINUM

Aluminum profiles are recycled at EFKA. Remains of aluminum profiles such as textile frames, LED frames and panel frames are collected and separated where necessary. With relatively little energy and low processing costs new aluminum frames could be made. By recycling, aluminum is 100% sustainable.
